Exclusive ODOP Exhibition, Incredible India Tourism Promotion, Yoga Ayurveda and Wellness Lounges on 15 Aug. 2025, Berne

During the 79th Independence Day reception held at India house, Embassy of India, Berne organized a special exhibition-cum-promotion of One District One Product (ODOP) initiative on 15 Aug. 2025. Invitees included dignitaries / officials from host government, diplomats, industry captains and prominent members of Indian diaspora. Guests appreciated the artefacts, handicrafts, Indian teas and other items displayed. The exhibition presented a diverse array of artisanal creations that reflect the rich heritage and creative spirit of India’s districts. It served as a powerful demonstration of how local knowledge and craftsmanship continue to drive innovation, sustainability, and cultural pride.

2. The initiative also underscored India’s commitment to empowering artisans, promoting export-oriented growth, and providing global recognition to local heritage. The ODOP exhibition offered guests, dignitaries, diplomats, and members of the Swiss and Indian business community a tangible experience of India’s craftsmanship, reinforcing the message that the nation’s development journey is deeply rooted in its local strengths.3. Some of the highlighted products, which attracted the guests and participants and also created curiosity among them, were Madhubani Paintings, GI Tagged Indian Coffee (Coorg Arabica, Chikmagalur Karnataka, Araku Valley and Bababudangiris), Tea (Organic Darjeeling & Assam Tea), Carpets, Kullu and Pashmina Shawls, Marble Coasters, U¬ttar Pradesh, Papier Mache GeM Gift Boxes (J&K), Brass plates & Bowls, Wooden Peacock, Handcrafted DOKRA products (from Chhattisgarh / Odisha / Punjab) and handcrafted products from Rajasthan, West Bengal. Mission also set up TRIFED corner and promoted the uniquially handcrafted tribal products to promote the heritage of India. 4. On the sidelines of the Exclusive ODOP Exhibition, Mission also set up lounges for the promotion of Incredible India Tourism, Yoga, Ayurveda, and Wellness. These spaces highlighted India's rich culture, heritage, and modern progress through an engaging photo gallery, which vividly portrayed the nation’s diverse journey through colors and stories. A highlight of the exhibition was the stunning ‘Taj Mahal’ photo corner, which served as a popular focal point for visitors and guests, offering them an opportunity to capture memorable moments.5. Through the Yoga, Ayurveda, and Wellness exhibition, Mission promoted medical tourism and highlighted how Ayurvedic Aahar contributes to a healthier lifestyle, enhancing both physical and mental well-being. Mission shared the benefits of Ayurvedic Aahar for better lifestyle and wellbeing. Booklets of "Traditional Food Recipes", to generate thrust and awareness on how to maintain positive health and prevent diseases by adopting time-tested AYUSH based cooking.
