Principal Scientific Adviser to Government of India, shared his thoughts as a panelist at the opening plenary session of GESDA in Geneva on 15 Oct2025

On 15 October 2025, Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to Government of India, Prof Ajay Sood, during his three-days’ visit to Switzerland shared his thoughts as a panelist at the opening plenary session of Geneva Science and Diplomacy Anticipator (GESDA) Global Summit in Geneva on a session titled “Vision to Action: Strengthening Global Research”. The session was moderated by Ms. Marilyne Andersen, Director General of GESDA. On day-2 of GESDA Global Summit at Geneva, Prof. Sood shared the dais with co-panellist Alexander Fasel, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Switzerland, on topic "Anticipatory Diplomacy for Innovation and Emerging Technologies".

He highlighted India’s efforts in advancing science, technology & innovation - from AI to Quantum and emphasized the need for synergy between science advice & diplomacy for achieving societal and global good.Prof. Sood had a brief meeting with the Foreign Minister of Switzerland Federal Councillor Ignazio Cassis, accompanied by State Secretary for foreign affairs, Switzerland, Alexandre Fasel, during the GESDA Global Summit dinner at Geneva. They discussed the bilateral and multilateral matters of mutual interest.
