Speech of Ambassador Monika Kapil Mohta on the occasion of inauguration of MISSP 3.0 on 1 March 2021

Good morning,

It gives me immense pleasure to announce today the launch of third edition of Momentum in India: Swiss SMEs Program, in short, MISSP 3.O . As a global leader in innovation, and competitiveness, Switzerland is an ideal partner for India. With a tremendous jump in Ease of Doing Business ranking to number 63, India provides an ideal trade and investment partner for the Swiss SME sector.

Friends, the people of India have resolved to build an Aatma Nirbhar Bharat or Self Reliant India. It merges the local with the global.  It transforms India into an active manufacturing hub at the heart of global value chains. The New India of today has the overall approach of Minimum Government & Maximum Governance.

Friends, this Embassy launched the MISSP programme in November 2017 to provide handholding services for Swiss SMEs to introduce, explore and enter the Indian market.

It is a matter of pride that, despite the sudden outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic which impacted MISSP 2.O, the second year of this program carried on unabated and successfully concluded on 31 January 2021. Several webinars and workshops in various complementary sectors were organised in collaboration with Indian and Swiss partners. More than 5000 companies were outreached and I am happy to note that 94 Swiss companies got onboarded during the second year of MISSP.

I hope that MISSP 3.O will continue to be a value addition in  India-Switzerland bilateral relations.
