Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Shri Piyush Goyal, official visit to Switzerland, 12-13 June 2026

On 12-13 June 2026, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, during his official visit to Switzerland met Swiss President Guy Parmelin and their discussions reaffirmed the strong and enduring partnership between India and Switzerland, with a shared commitment to further strengthening economic engagement, investment flows, and strategic cooperation under the India-EFTA TEPA. Swiss President also added that the meeting focused on the encouraging first results of the India–EFTA Trade & Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA), which is in force since October 2025, and on the many opportunities ahead.
CIM began his visit to Switzerland by co-chairing a meeting with Ms. Helene Budliger Artieda, State Secretary for Economic Affairs and representatives of leading Swiss pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. The discussions focused on strengthening collaboration in research and innovation, as well as on new investment opportunities for Swiss pharma companies in India's rapidly growing healthcare and life sciences sector. On the sidelines of the visit, CIM engaged with Swiss companies and investors in Zurich and discussed opportunities for expanding bilateral trade and investment and to explore avenues for deeper economic collaboration.
