On 07 Jan. 2026, during his first official visit to Liechtenstein, HCIM Piyush Goyal, called on HSH Hereditary Prince Alois, Hereditary Prince of Liechtenstein at Schloss Vaduz. He conveyed greetings from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and both sides discussed strengthening bilateral trade, investment, and cultural ties.
Later HCIM held productive meetings with Prime Minister Brigitte Haas and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sabine Monauni, reaffirming commitment to expanding cooperation and explored avenues for deepening collaboration in trade, investment, and technology, leveraging the India–EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA). During delegation-level talks, both sides identified new opportunities to enhance investment and trade flows under the framework of the Agreement, emphasized the importance of providing tailored support to investors and businesses, and agreed to maintain regular consultations to advance shared growth and a mutually beneficial economic partnership.
Hon’ble CIM also held an interactive roundtable with leading captains of industry and representatives of the Liechtenstein Business Chamber. He highlighted India’s ongoing policy reforms under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aimed at simplifying regulations, enhancing ease of doing business, and fostering a more investor-friendly ecosystem. He invited Liechtenstein businesses to leverage emerging opportunities under the India–EFTA TEPA, particularly in technology, finance, and innovation-driven sectors, to further deepen mutually beneficial economic ties between the two countries.
