Embassy of India, Berne organized the ‘Viksit Bharat Run – 2025’ on 26 September 2025 at Sportzentrum Witikon, Zurich.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from members of the Indian diaspora in and around Zurich, who gathered to support the initiative and make it a resounding success. Despite inclement weather conditions, participants turned out in impressive strength, reflecting their strong commitment to the cause.

Commemorating the occasion,  Ambassador Kumar planted a sapling at the venue as part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative, symbolizing India’s commitment to environmental sustainability and climate action, before the commencement of the run.

The programme began with Ambassador’s address, underlining the importance of the ‘Viksit Bharat’ initiative and emphasizing the significance of collective effort in realizing the vision of a developed India. He particularly highlighted the vital role of the youth in shaping the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister to make India a Viksit Bharat, noting that their energy, innovation, and commitment will be key drivers in this transformative journey. ‘Viksit Bharat Pledge’, reaffirming commitment to contribute towards India’s progress and development, was administered.

The programme then moved to the run, which saw spirited involvement from participants across all age groups, with the youth displaying enthusiasm and energy.

On this occasion, prominent members of the diaspora also addressed the gathering as special guests. They spoke about the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’, India’s steady progress in diverse sectors, and expressed admiration for the dynamic leadership of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, noting the inspirational role he continues to play in shaping India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation. Their remarks added depth to the programme and further strengthened the sense of pride and connection among the community. 

The programme concluded with the distribution of certificates to the top three runners and other participants, followed by light refreshments and networking.
