Embassy of India, Berne co-hosted India Fest & Margazhi Utsav 2025 at Zurich in collaboration with Swiss Indian Fine Arts Association (SIFAA). The two-day festival celebrated India’s rich cultural heritage and brought together members of the Indian diaspora, friends of India, and the local Swiss community.

The festival featured a range of attractions showcasing India’s cultural vibrancy. Highlights included the One District One Product (ODOP) Wall, exhibitions on Incredible India and displays on Ayurveda and Yoga. Visitors also enjoyed a lively handicrafts bazaar and a variety of food stalls offering diverse Indian cuisine.

Cultural performances formed a major highlight of the festival. Audiences were captivated by a vibrant presentation of Yakshagana by artists from Germany, as well as a graceful performance of Mayilattam by members of the Indian diaspora. These performances reflected the richness and diversity of India’s folk traditions.

Speaking on the occasion as Chief Guest, Deputy Chief of Mission Mr. Anoop Dhingra highlighted the importance of cultural diplomacy, community partnerships, and the valuable contribution of the Indian diaspora in strengthening relations between India and Switzerland. He congratulated the Swiss Indian Fine Arts Association team for their efforts in organizing a successful festival that celebrated Indian art, culture, and community spirit.

The celebrations also featured a moving rendition of Vande Mataram, which added a patriotic note to the event. The rendition held special significance as India commemorates the 150th year of Vande Mataram, a timeless ode to the nation’s spirit.
