The Government of India announces with profound sorrow the demise of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, former Prime Minister of India on August 16, 2018 at New Delhi.

As a mark of respect to the departed leader, seven day State mourning will be observed in India from August 16, 2018 to August 22, 2018.

It has been decided to reschedule all the official events that were to be organized by the Embassy of India in Berne during the period of State mourning to a future date.
