PIO ALERT: PIO Scheme has been withdrawn and merged with OCI scheme. The last date for replacing PIO cards with OCI cards is 31.12.2017. Hand written PIO cards will no longer be valid after 31.12.2017. The process of conversion of PIO cards to OCI cards takes about 3-4 weeks. PIO card holders are, therefore, requested to apply for OCI cards urgently to avoid any difficulty in travelling to India after 31.12.2017.
